Education:

Whitman College, BA 1958

University of Washington, JD 1961

 

Practice Experience:

Boeing, contract Administration 1961-1962; Securities and Exchange Commission, Seattle Regional office 1962-1964; private practice Vancouver, Washington 1964-1982; Clark County Superior Court Judge 1983-2001.

 

Judge Ladley’s private practice emphasized business law and personal injury.

 

Professional Activities:

Judge Ladley was a member of the Clark County Board of Adjustment from 1968 through 1978.  He was president of the Clark County Bar Association 1978 through 1979.  In 1997, he was chosen Jurist of the Year by the Family Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association.  In 2000, he was chosen Superior Court Judge of the Year by the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association.

 

Mediation Experience:

Clark County requires mandatory settlement conferences in all dissolution cases set for trial.  In addition, Judge Ladley has participated in at least 200 mediations involving personal injury, business and property matters in cases pending before the Clark County Bench.  He is also a graduate of the mediation course offered by the National Judicial College, Reno, Nevada.
