JEFFREY R. SPERE

 

Education:

Pacific University, B.B. A., 1972

Willamette University, J.D, 1975

 

Practice Experience:

Mr. Spere is a native of Aberdeen, Washington and graduated cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University in Business Administration.  He clerked for the Oregon Court of Appeals after graduating cum laude from Willamette University.  While at Willamette he was on the Editorial Staff of the Willamette Law Journal.  Mr. Spere joined Sussman Shank LLP in 1978 and served as Managing Partner from 1986 to 1991.  His expertise includes general business matters, real estate transactions, lending transactions, employment law, and construction.

 

Professional Activities:

Mr. Spere is a member of the American Bar Association: the Corporation, Banking, and Business Section; Labor and Employment Law; and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

 

He is also a member of the Oregon State Bar: the Labor and Employment Law Section; the Debtor/Creditor Section, where he is currently serving on the Executive Committee (1992—present) and was Chair from 1996 to 1997 and on the Continuing Legal Education Subcommittee from 1989 to 1991.

 

Civic Organizations:

Mr. Spere is involved in numerous organizations which include Raphael House Advisory Board, Rotary International, YMCA of Columbia-Willamette Board of Trustees.  In the past he was involved with the Portland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. He was on the Board of Directors from 1990 to 1994 and was General Counsel from 1990 to 1991.  Mr. Spere was also on the Pacific Lutheran University Alumni Board from 1987 to 1990.
