MICHAEL R. SILVEY

 

Education:

Practice Experience:

Mr. Silvey has been a partner at Foster Pepper Tooze LLP, since 1993.  His practice emphasizes representing institutional and individual investors, developers and businesses in all aspects of commercial real estate, including purchase transactions, loans for acquisition  and construction, refinancing, development agreements, construction documentation, leasing and land use approvals.

 

Prior to joining Foster Pepper Tooze, Mr. Silvey was a partner for 13 years at Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May in Oakland, California

 

Professional Activities:

Mr. Silvey is a member of the American Bar Association, the Oregon State Bar, Washington State Bar, the California State Bar, the Idaho State Bar, and the Multnomah County Bar Association.  He is a member of the real estate and land use sections in each of Oregon, Washington and California State Bars.  He has been a CLE speaker on various real estate, construction and land use topics.  He is the author of “How to Execute a Slam Dunk in Public/Private Negotiations: The Oregon Arena Project Experience,” Development Magazine, Spring 1995.  He is an adjunct professor at Portland State University teaching real estate principles.

 

Mr. Silvey is a member of the Building Owners and Managers Association, the International Council of Shopping Centers, past President and Board Member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Oregon Chapter, past Board Member of Oregon Mortgage Bankers Association and a present member and past Chairman of the Counselors of Real Estate, Oregon Chapter for 2002-2003.

 

Mr. Silvey is a volunteer mediator in small claims and the Federal Court of the Multnomah County Circuit Court 2004 to present and a member of the Oregon Mediation Association.

 

Community Activities:

Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors and is President of the Executive Committee of the Clackamas Community Land Trust.  In the 1990’s, Mike served in various capacities with the YMCA of Columbia-Willamette and the Oregon State YMCA.  From 1992 to 1994, he was a Citizen Member of the City of Lake Oswego Comprehensive Plan Review Committee.
