JOHN S. CAVANAGH

 

Education:

University of Oregon, BS 1963

Willamette College of Law, JD 1974 (Magna cum Laude)

 

Practice Experience:

John Cavanagh was an English and History teacher at Flintridge Preparatory School from 1965 – 1971 before attending law school.  He then worked for Miller, Nash, Yerke & Weiner of Portland from 1974 – 1975.  From there he practiced at Jones, Lang, Klein, Wolf & Smith (1975 – 1981) and Bolliger, Hampton & Tarlow (1981 – 1986).  Mr. Cavanagh then formed Cavanagh & Zipse of Portland, Oregon (in-house litigation office for Farmers Insurance) 1986 – 2004.  He has extensive trial, appellate, arbitration and mediation experience.

 

Professional Activities:

Mr. Cavanagh is a member of the Oregon State Bar, South Carolina State Bar (associate member), OACD, and the Nature Conservancy – volunteer coordinator for South Carolina.
