Practice Experience:
Paul Kelly brings 40 years of legal and business experience to USA&M of Oregon's panel, specializing in the fields of Government & Public Policy Law, and Sports, Arts & Entertainment Law, as well as business and commercial disputes. He comes to our panel from the law firm of Garvey, Schubert, Barer, where he focused on alternative dispute resolution, public policy, lobbying and business matters. Prior to this, Mr. Kelly spent 17 years with Nike, where he served in several key roles, including Global Director of Public Affairs and General Counsel. Prior to joining Nike, he worked in private law practice for 11 years, focusing on general business, trial and appellate practice and family law matters. He began his legal career as a legal aid lawyer, eventually becoming Executive Director of Multnomah County Legal Aid Service.
Professional Activities:
Mr. Kelly’s activities include the Oregon School Funding Defense Foundation Board; Legal Aid Services of Oregon and Oregon Law Center Board; Concordia University Foundation Board; and The Campaign for Equal Justice Advisory Committee. Prior Board work and activities included the President of Oregon State Board of Higher Education; the Chalkboard Project, School Funding and Budget Accountability Group; the Oregon Business Association Board; the University of Oregon School of Law Dean’s Council; the Oregon Business Council; and the Portland Business Alliance.
